This study provides representative national data allowing the conclusion that Roma people are in worse mental health than non-Roma people in the country. It can also be concluded that psychological distress is more pronounced in association with subjective well- being in the Roma population. Our results call the attention of policy makers to create public health policies to improve the mental health status of the Roma minority, as they have been in worse mental health when compared to non-Roma people.
