It attempts to bridge the epidemiological significance of the opioid crisis which has affected certain countries particularly the united states with the biological basis behind the opioid receptor. In doing so an understanding of the current treatments of opioid addiction can occur. A systemic review of literature corresponding to medication assisted treatment of opioid addiction also occurs. Finally a discussion of possible future medications takes place and a discussion of certain systemic barriers also is discussed.32enOpioid addictionPublic HealthPharmacologyAdvancements and Prospects in the Pharmacological Treatment of Opioid AddictionMedicine::PharmacologyHozzáférhető a 2022 decemberi felsőoktatási törvénymódosítás értelmében.
