It emphasizes how e-commerce has posed new shapes for legal considerations and trade practices around the globe from traditional business models to digital platforms. The efficiency of both traditional and modern conflict resolution procedures, such as alternative dispute resolution and online dispute resolusion , in resolving issues involving e-commerce are questioned and we came to the conclusion that ODR might be particularly useful, in that it could provide an efficient, rapid, and readily applicable solution within the digital space, in comparison to other mechanisms such as litigation. A series of international conventions and laws adapted to be applied to the digital age. This thesis evaluates the impact of e-commerce on traditional trade laws and the efforts made by international bodies like the WTO and regional agreements to accommodate the digital economy. We outline several problems, including those related to data security, privacy regulations, and digital customer rights, as well as the legislation that has been put in place to address them. Noteworthy is the analysis of the successful new 2021 VAT regulations in the EU, which exemplify significant legal adaptations to accommodate e-commerce. The thesis concludes that while e-commerce has driven economic growth and innovation, it has also necessitated an ongoing reevaluation and adaptation of legal frameworks to ensure they remain effective in a digital world.
