In this review, I have introduced lipid metabolism and storage in the body. Then, I briefly covered its significance in the development of astherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and introduced a few agents to manage this disease. In the discussion I went on to discuss lipid lowering strategies in elderly populations and compared various agents, primarily focusing on statins and their nuaned pharmacodynamics.
