The hard realities of post-conflict recovery and rehabilitation still has adverse effects on the nation today. The infrastructure gap, funding, attracting investment, environmental, and socioeconomic problems are some of the issues facing Sierra Leone's water sector. Some of these difficulties are emphasized below: Limited Infrastructure (Gap): Because many rural regions lack dependable water infrastructure, people are forced to rely on risky sources such as ponds, rivers, streams, local wells, and hand-dug wells that are not safeguarded.
