The intensive production demands more and more energy and raw material use, but so the harmful material emission is growing as well. In my study I analyzed the impact of environmental pollution of the food economy sector then I worked out an industrial ecology model which could be a solution to the divulged environmental problems in Hajdú-Bihar County. Finally with the help of questionnaire I examined the environmental-conscious attitude of the food economy companies in Hajdú-Bihar County and the opportunity (advantage, disadvantage) of realization of an industrial ecology system.A világ népessége olyan rohamos mértékben növekszik, hogy a megnövekedett élelmiszerigény kielégítése egyre nagyobb terheket ró az élelmiszertermelésre, mind mennyiségi- mind minőségi kérdés tekintetében. Az intenzívebb termelés egyre több energia- és nyersanyag-felhasználást kíván, ugyanakkor velejárója a növekvő mértékű környezeti terhelés is. Jelen tanulmányban arra vállalkoztam, hogy megvizsgálva a szűkebb értelemben vett élelmiszer-gazdaság környezetterhelő hatását, a feltárt probléma megoldására lehetőségként kidolgozzak egy ipari ökológiai modellt ezen vállalatok körében Hajdú-Bihar Megyében.
