It discusses and studies how to apply lean thinking and lean management methods to optimize the R&D process. Based on research methods such as learning surveys and case analysis, we gained an in-depth understanding of Company M's existing product R&D process, and through VSM and other tools we discovered issues such as waste in the R&D process, lack of application of lean tools, and low cross-department collaboration efficiency. Then, the R&D process was optimized by introducing the method of combining system engineering and IPD, and the original product R&D process swim lane diagram of M company was improved.
