As for cholinesterase inhibitors, it is analysed that the pharmacological and clinical action of tacrine, donepezil, galantamin and rivastigmine, whereas among the NMDA antagonists memantine is emphasized. Amyloid-based therapies include reduction of amyloid beta-production, prevention of amyloid beta accumulation and promotion of clearance.
