The consumption that occurred in the historical beginning of humanity have transformed to the life purpose while it was a crucial activity for life. In the 21st century, people entered in an extravagant consumption era and they are being called as consumer. By nature of economy, this enormous demand has come with its supply. There are various goods and services ever than before. Consumers have to make a selection between numerous different types of options. Having such various options provides advantages for customer however it causes confusion during purchasing period. In this point, companies target to affect consumers’ decision process through marketing activities. Communication is the major element of all marketing activities. Basically, all they are based on communicating with consumers. Therefore, it is inevitable to use internet as the most advanced communication way of our age. I had examined and tried to find concrete inferences about how and why companies communicate with consumers through the most advanced communication channel, internet. In accordance with purpose of to be deeply understood, I shortly analyzed internet and marketing separately in the first chapter of my thesis. In the next chapter, I targeted to designate a combination of them and wrote about internet usage for purpose of marketing, transition from traditional marketing to internet marketing. Also consumers were included in thesis theoretically, with importance of consumer behaviors, black box model and decision making process. After major player of marketing activities got in the process, in the third chapter, I analyzed the platforms that connect companies and consumers, the basic principles of them and the methods which may lead companies to success. The first subtitle of this chapter is internet marketing types according to sides of it. In simplest term, who buy and who sell. Business to business, business to consumer (the major point of my thesis), consumer to business and consumer to consumer… The internet marketing platforms have been examined under two main subtitles, consumer focused and society focused. Consumer focused internet marketing consists of official websites, search engines and e-mail marketing. On the other hand society focused methods are social media in general term, blogs, social networks, viral marketing and affiliate marketing. These methods were the punch lines within the all thesis process. All they had been examined into all details. After all these more or less theoretical information, of course the dynamics and statistics of real life should be determined. For this purpose, I reserved my last chapter for statistics, result of consumer surveys and marketing reports data. It should not be forgotten that it is impossible to have marketing activities out of consideration of real life. The target of marketing is consumers and consumers mean the real life.
