Absztrakt

E disszertációban a Teleki Mihály által kialakított kommunikációs tér eljárásait, technikáit vizsgáltuk. Másként szólva, Teleki Mihály kommunikációs eszközeivel foglalkoztunk az 1680-as évek Erdélyében. Cserei Mihály Históriájának egyik kiragadott dialógusában megmutattuk, hogy a személyekhez köthető bizonyos akarati megnyilvánulások meglehetősen összetett jelentéssel rendelkeznek. Teleki Mihály „esküszövegét” vizsgáltuk, melynek legfőbb célja a meggyőzés volt, a Bánffy-ellenes liga subscribálásához, s ennek érdekében Teleki különféle manipulációs eszközöket „vetett be”. Mindeközben nemcsak Erdély, hanem több szempontból Németország irányába is kitekintés történt e munkában. Egyrészt, megfigyelhető, hogy Teleki Mihály politikai tevékenységével párhuzamosan kortársa, Johann Adam Weber is, akinek életrajzi konstrukcióját ebben a munkában tettük először közre, hasonlóan nagyívű egyházi, egyházpolitikai karriert futott be. Munkái Magyarországon is több udvarban fellelhetőek kiváltképp használatosak voltak azonban Erdélyben. S a körülötte lévő kommunikációs térben szinte folyamatosan azt a kérdést sugallja: elfogadják-e azokat a közösségi szerepeket, amelyeket ő kijelölt a környezete tagjainak? Betekintést nyújtottunk az 1680-as évek Teleki-levelezésébe is. Érdemes lenne megvizsgálni a Teleki Mihály saját kezűleg írott leveleit is. Teleki Mihályt Istentől kiválasztott atyjának nevezi ebben a levélben, melynek betűhív átiratát a Függelékben közöltük. Mindez ideig ez a levél is kiadatlan. A dolgozatban a Spiritus principalis ajánlásának olvasásakor feltettem a kérdést, hogy vajon II. Apafi Mihály befutja-e a pályát, amit Teleki Mihály előírt számára. A disszertáció végén azt gondolom, hogy „igen”. E több évet átfogó virtuális dialógusban megtörtént a válaszadás. Ami II. Apafi Mihály életének mélypontja, az úgy látom, hogy Teleki Mihály karrierjének ívét, pályáját tekintve a tetőpont. Teleki Mihály 1690. tavaszán, Erdély élén állt, az országgyűlés teljes támogatását élvezhette. A leendő ifjú fejedelem „Istentől is választott atyjának” nevezte. Teleki Mihály céltudatos, határozott egyéniség lehetett, aki a prudentia, a fronézis erényeit maximálisan elsajátítva építette folyamatában felfelé ívelő karrierjét, mind a politikai pályáját tekintve, mind gazdaságilag a szerzett birtokainak kiterjedtségére nézve is. Egyre több olyan műfaj, módszer kerül ennek következtében előtérbe, amelyet a kultúratudományi diskurzusok határterületeinek vallanak. Jelen értekezés éppen ebbe az irányba tett lépéseket a jogszociológia, a retorika, a kommunikáció- és nyilvánosságelmélet terepén.

This dissertation deals with the methods and techniques of the communication space created by Mihály Teleki. In other words, Mihály Teleki’s communication tools were studied in Transylvania during the 1680s. As presented in one of the accentuated dialogues in Mihály Cserei’s work History, certain volitional manifestations related to personalities have rather complex meaning. Mihály Teleki’s ’oath’ which primarily aimed at convincing the subscription of the anti-Bánffy league, and in order to which various manipulation tools were Teleki ‘put in’ was analysed. His argument was launched in customary law phrasing and as observed the principle of customary law (Compilatae) was considered to be more forceful compared to the statutory one (Tripartitum) in that era. Thus Tripartitum was referred by Teleki in his oath. Then as observed Mihály Teleki realised not succeeding with Pál Béldi, there was a shift in the phrasing. He stepped into the husband's role, appropriated Pál Béldi’s phrasing and instructed Mrs. Béldi to remain silent. In this communication situation, the capability of foreseeing, a rapid situation assessment was required. In my opinion this will only be remunerated at situations when associated with adequate psychology. Mihály Teleki’s communication techniques and methods were analysed at multiple levels. In the Cserei dialogue, Mihály Teleki was, involved in the same communication situation with a Transylvanian baron in similar position and his wife. Further on, the publicity of the court in which the instruction of Dominus Mihály Teleki published at his Cârțișoara estate was read was brought into focus. The court, in my view, is included in both the private and public realms. From the political philosophical point of view it was concluded that Mihály Teleki represented, in terms of the relationship between community and the individual, the modern conception of his age, i.e. the contracted relationship between the Lord (dominus) and the members (servants). Regarding his mentality, an excursion from the ancient pater familias role, i.e. the tether of dominus with unrestricted power was concluded. His assertion ‘I pay according as you serve’ indicated affinity with Thomas Hobbes’, John Locke’s and Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s versions of the Western European contract theories. Mihály Teleki’s mentality, as observed, points to the liberalism and also contains some Western European dimensions. This was supported by the review of the range of his patronage for the 1670s. Meanwhile, this dissertation contains an outlook not only towards Transylvania, but also Germany. In line with Mihály Teleki’s political activities, his contemporary Johann Adam Weber, whose biographical construction has been published for the first time in this dissertation, had a similarly ambitious ecclesiastical and ecclesiastical political carrier. Further research would be required on Weber's biography. For example, a revision of Weber related documents in Würzburg if indeed in evidence or in Baumberg where this Augustinian friar also spent a longer time period. Not to mention his time prior to the Jesuit conversion, in which case, the archives in the Novacella Abbey near Brixen in Italy would be more useful to look through. Weber was, during his administratorship in Höglwörth, concerned with a number of matters and often contemplated on the art of treating individuals. Although his works can be found in many courts of Hungary, they were especially used in Transylvania. A translation of Weber’s speculum regis entitled Spiritus principalis was accomplished by Mihály Teleki. While reading the recommendations of the volumes, the communication spaces created by Mihály Teleki were interpreted through several chapters. As noticed, a quasi virtual dialogue is procured by Mihály Teleki with members of the surrounding environment. And toward the communications space around him the question whether the community roles designated by him for the members of his environment would be accepted is suggested almost constantly. An overview on the 1680s Teleki correspondence was provided as well. Based on the frequency of exchanges of letters the persons with whom the Transylvanian nobleman maintained daily contact could be ascertained. The dispositional patterns of the ‘selected’ letters were read and it was found that the rhetorical formulas of Salutatio and Conclusio indicated the nature of his relationship to Mihály Teleki. The study of this correspondence would require a more in-depth research. A study into Mihály Teleki’s manually written letters would also be worth of interest. Furthermore, it was also concluded that these letters are already segments of a communication space. Thus, all the articles can be considered as responses of the community access ‘inquired’ by Teleki. Several similarities were observed in the political philosophical concepts of S. Pataki and the Teleki Jr. In both cases, the text approaches the monarch, on the one hand, and the other layers of society, on the other. Mihály Teleki’s Aristotelian view related to accessing the common good (bonum commune) and aiming at universal education according to which society intends to achieve the common good, however the objective as well as the route and method of achievement themselves are appropriated by him. As observed the selection of genres also declared awareness as actually the political-moral discourses of the speculum regium and the code of ethics advanced the possibility of manipulatively offering community roles by the conceived range of rhetorical tools. In the final chapter, manifestations of the orphan Mihály Apafi II are analysed. In terms of its origins, it was written after the death of his father, i.e. the prince. Mihály Teleki is called his father chosen by God in this letter, which letter-perfect transcription is enclosed in the Appendix. As yet this letter has been also unpublished. In this dissertation, while reading the recommendation of Spiritus principalis the question was raised whether Mihály Apafi II would achieve what had been intended for him by Mihály Teleki. As a conclusion, I assume the answer is ‘yes’. This answer was made in this comprehensive multi-year virtual dialogue. As for Mihály Apafi’s nadir in his life, in my opinion, it coincides with in terms of Mihaly Teleki's career, the apogee. Mihály Teleki was head of Transylvania during the spring of 1690 and enjoyed full support by the parliament. He was called ‘his father also chosen by God’ by the young prince-to-be. Unlike most of the literature and the contemporary public opinions, I believe he did not intend to be a prince. In my opinion, Mihály Teleki did not seek to get more than appreciation and the supervision ‘rights’ of power conflicts as his communication techniques outlined in this dissertation could be accomplished under such circumstances. As far as I am concerned he never wished to be ‘primal’, the ‘head’ but his objective was to supervise the former ‘head’. In my opinion, Mihály Teleki could be a purposive, strong-minded individual, who developed his successful carrier in terms of politics and economics regarding the extent of acquired estates by maximally imbibing the virtues of prudentia and fronesis. At all times, he intended to evidence as required by the agents of the actually represented communication medium. His patronage and orientation towards the modern studies of state theory of his age also indicates a conscious development and the processing of a successful carrier. In their works, the pioneers of this study pioneers as Zsolt Trócsányi, János Herepei, István Szilágyi and Sámuel Gergely all made a great contribution to the Teleki research. The fact according to which an increasing number of text places, sources and methods previously not included in literature and historical methodology studies are designated by interdisciplinary and cultural studies discourses is also significant. As a result, a growing number of genres and methods professed as disciplinary of cultural studies discourses has come to the front. Such is the very direction towards which measures were taken in this dissertation, in the fields of law sociology, rhetorics and communication and public theory.
