When comparing non-surgical and surgical treatments, the non-surgical treatments have a stable outcome but are not so effective for bony defects and gingival recession. Tissue regeneration by surgical treatment has an irreplaceable use for esthetic and functional reconstruction of the periodontal tissues, hence impacting the stability and life of the tooth
