The evolution of referential and predicational strategies in parliamentary debates on Italian immigration laws

| dc.description | This article presents the evolution of the use of two words in parliamentary debates, immigrato and extracomunitario, frequently used in Italian language in reference to a foreign person entering the country with the aim of staying. The corpus consists of the transcripted texts of the parliamentary debates related to eight laws on immigration between 1986 and 2019, analysed with both quantitative and qualitative methods. Collocations and co-occurences with verbs and adjectives are taken into consideration, as well as figurative language. | en-US |
| dc.description | L'articolo presenta l'evoluzione dell'uso di due parole nei dibattiti parlamentari, immigrato ed extracomunitario, usate frequentemente in lingua italiana in riferimento a uno straniero che entra nel Paese con l'obiettivo di rimanervi. Il corpus è costituito dai testi trascritti dei dibattiti parlamentari relativi a otto leggi sull'immigrazione tra il 1986 e il 2019, analizzati con metodi sia quantitativi che qualitativi. Vengono prese in considerazione le collocazioni e le co-occorrenze con verbi e aggettivi, così come il linguaggio figurativo. | it-IT |
