dc.description.abstractDolgozatom négy fő témakörének legfontosabb kérdései. (i) Van-e elkülönülés a különböző tápnövényeket használó populációk között, illetve van-e a differenciálódásnak földrajzi mintázata a Kárpát-medence nagy régióit tekintve? (ii) Elkülönülnek-e egymástól kisebb földrajzi léptékben az alcon- illetve a rebeli-típusú populációk, valamint milyen mértékű a genetikai differenciálódás a földrajzi alrégiók között? (iii) Milyen a differenciálódás térbeli és időbeli mintázata a különböző típusú tápnövényeket használó populációk esetében? (iv) Van-e különbség a genetikai variabilitás mértékében két eltérő méretű, de ugyanazt a tápnövényt használó populáció között? ÚJ TUDOMÁNYOS EREDMÉNYEK ÉS KÖVETKEZTETÉSEK 1. A Maculinea alcon-fajcsoport populációiban mérsékelt szintű polimorfizmust tapasztaltam, amely alacsonyabbnak bizonyult más vizsgált boglárkalepke fajokhoz képest. 2. Az alcon- illetve a rebeli-típusú populációk között nem mutatkozott faji szintű elkülönülés egyik statisztikai analízis során sem. 3. A Maculinea alcon-fajcsoport populációiból származó minták nagymértékben elkülönülnek egymástól. A minták közötti teljes differenciálódás egyik része az adott populáció egymást követő generációi közötti, míg másik része a különböző populációk közötti különbségekből adódott. 4. Nem tudtam egyértelmű trendet kimutatni a Kárpát-medence nagy földrajzi régióinak a differenciálódását illetően. Ugyanakkor az észak-magyarországi régióban az alrégiók közötti differenciálódás egyértelműen kimutatható volt néhány esetben: a Szatmári-síki és a mátrai minták egyértelműen elkülönültek a másik három, egymással átfedésben levő szubrégió (Zempléni-hegység, Bükk hegység, Aggteleki-karszt) mintáitól. 5. A minták közötti teljes genetikai differenciálódás időbeli komponense jelentős mértékű volt mindkét vizsgált szubrégióban. Ez arra utal, hogy a M. alcon-populációk közötti differenciálódás hátterében elsősorban a specifikus életmenetből adódó sztochasztikus hatások állnak. 6. A lecsökkent méretű Bükk-fennsíki populáció variabilitása alacsonyabb szintű volt, mint a nagyobb egyedszámú és -sűrűségű, aktív természetvédelmi kezeléssel stabilizált tohonya-völgyié. Mindezek alapján megállapítható, hogy a M. alcon obligát mirmekofil életmódjából adódó erős sztochasztikus hatások mellett is kimutatható a kis populációkban fellépő drift hatás következménye. The most important questions concerning the four main parts of my theses: (i) Is there any clear differentiation between the populations of the Maculinea alcon species group using different initial food plant and host ant species? Is it possible to detect any geographic pattern in the differentiation among the populations of the Carpathian Basin? (ii) Can we reveal genetic differentiation between the alcon and rebeli type populations at a smaller geographic scale? Can we find any geographic pattern of genetic variation in Northern Hungary? (iii) What is the distribution between the spatial and temporal components of genetic differentiation in the populations using different initial food plant and host ant species? (iv) Can we detect any further effects of genetic drift on the genetic composition of a small population in addition to those attributable to the specific life cycle of Alcon Blues? NEW RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS 1. Samples of the Maculinea alcon species group had an moderate level of polymorphism, which proved to be much lower than reported in other lycaenid butterfly species. 2. The genetic differentiation between the alcon and rebeli type populations was not clear in any statistical analysis. 3. In general, the samples of the Alcon Blue populations exhibited a high level of differentiation. This high differentiation was partly explained by the differences among the samples collected in consecutive generations of a population and partly by the variation among the populations. 4. There was a lack of evident geographic pattern in the differentiation among the large regions of the Carpathian Basin. In the Northern Hungarian region, however, a certain level of differentiation was observed among the subregions: the samples of Szatmári-lowlands and Mátra Mountains were clearly differentiated from the three other subregions (Zempléni Mts., Bükk Mts., and Aggtelek Karst). 5. The temporal component accounted for a sizeable amount of the total genetic differentiation in both subregions studied. This suggested that the high level of genetic differentiation observed in M. alcon populations was mostly due to stochastic events resulted from the specific life cycle of the species. 6. The level of enzyme polymorphism was clearly lower in the small and declining Bükk-plateau population than in the large and stable Tohonya-valley one, indicating that the general effect of genetic drift observed in small populations can be detected in addition to those resulting from the life cycle of the species.en
