Multiple myeloma (MM) is a blood dyscrasia associated with malignant plasma cells, producing monoclonal immunoglobulins (Igs). Oral manifestation associated with multiple myeloma is often overlooked as pathological Igs invade multiple organs giving rise to various symptoms. MM lesions in the jaw can be seen in approximately 5-30% of cases and in about of 14% of these are the first sign of the disease. Immunosuppressive treatment of MM has many side effects on the oral tissues so unambiguously a negative effect on the oral health status that’s why understanding MM’s connection with dentistry can refine the treatment plan.hu_HU
