The aim of my paper is to analyse metaphors and blends in the political discourse of US society, mainly on the basis of speeches by President George W. Bush. These metaphors may be both foundational metaphors and metaphors connected to the war on Iraq. Nowadays, there are more examples for the latter group, so we have to pay attention to them as well.hu_HU
