In the world today, cybersecurity threats pose significant risks to individuals, businesses, and governments. This work aims to discuss the role of international law in addressing these cybersecurity threats, with specific reference to cyber norms of responsible cyber behaviour and the enforcement mechanisms and challenges international law faces in addressing these threats. It was observed that the lack of efficient enforcement mechanisms, and the fast-paced advancement of cyberspace, among others, are some of the challenges international law faces in addressing cybersecurity threats. This research also found that the regulation of cyberspace through the establishment of cyber norms is a gradual process that should be commended. The research as a way of conclusion, recommended enhanced cooperation among States, collaborative efforts between states and non-state actors, investments in cutting-edge technology, and creating thorough incident response plans.
