dc.description.abstractIn the past, there has been a growing interest in the use of ceramic materials in dentistry. In order to meet patients' demands for improved aesthetics, these components are favoured alternatives to conventional materials. In dentistry, ceramics are commonly employed in the fabrication of crowns, ceramic posts, abutments, implants, bridges, synthetic denture teeth, and veneers over metal substructures. Initially, a discussion about the history of the ceramics and how does ceramics used in the dentistry. Further, it shows the definition of the ceramics, what is the composition of the ceramics. Finally, we characterized the ceramics by composition or application.
