This essay analyzes the 2003 reforms of the Common Agricultural policy from multiple aspects. First, it discusses the welfare effects of former policy instruments to validate the necessity of the reform, then it analyzes the changes in the position of the EU on the WTO negotiations as a result of the 2003 reforms. The essay concludes that the recent reforms of the CAP have the most far-reaching and most comprehensive changes since its existence, although further reforms are expected to be carried out.hu_HU
