From Sunlight to Savings: Techno-Economic Analysis of Solar Energy in Buildings in Syria

Abstract

The objective of this study is undertaking a comprehensive evaluation of using solar energy system in Syria’s buildings according to two important concepts:

Technical Objective: ➢ Assessing technical capacities and potentials: determining the efficiency of both solar and power energy systems in Syria’s conditions. ➢ Analyzing the system: investigating the output performance of photovoltaic energy systems compared to residential or commercial buildings’ needs there.

Economic Objective: ➢ Cost analysis: conducting an economic assessment of solar systems by analyzing installation costs, avoided costs that include transmission losses and systems degradation, to ensure a realistic estimation of financial returns. ➢ Profitability analysis: to evaluate the profitability indicators of solar power through in-depth study of LCOE, NPV and payback indicators for estimating the solar system’s economic efficiency and achieving long-term operational savings.
