The main aim of this thesis work was to study the growth and life cycle of Haematococcus pluvialis algae including cysts formation among circumstances modeling nitrogen starvation. We designed an experiment and used three different cultures (absolute control, control and N-starvation) to compare the growth of the cultures, proportions of the cell types, and their nutrition. This study has gone some way towards enhancing our understanding of effect of nutritional stress on the growth and cyst formation of Haematococcus pluvialis. The results may contribute to a better understanding of its life cycle and how the cells behave under some nutritional starvation conditions.hu_HU
