Process improvement projects in multinational corporate environment
Absztrakt
Multinational companies have a large knowledgebase to tap into. They can benefit from those during understanding their issues and fix those. The tone at the top is important to managing the whole company, as this gives the expectations to the whole organisation; this sets the norm in the company. There are projects focussed on process improvements to ease the processing of certain data, the quality of data, to upgrade an IT system, to standardise key processes, to restructure the organisation or to set up a centralised business service office. Some internal mega-projects could last years, for example the creation of a shared service centre (SSC). This centre itself is the result of a process and organisational improvement project which will ensure there are further opportunities are found to continue the process improvements. Continuous improvement mindset can be embedded in the minds of employees in the centre, so improvements are going to be happening on mid- and long-term. Small size companies could benefit from these methods and improvement mindset.
