The thesis discusses the environmental impact of the growing aviation industry and various sustainable aviation solutions to reduce them. It includes the study of electric aircraft, with emphasis on the propulsion and battery technology. The use of hydrogen as an aviation fuel and fuel cell is also examined. It also explores the hybrid propulsion technology and its application in aircraft. Sustainable aviation fuel is also assessed as an immediate solution to achieve sustainable aviation, its production, environmental benefits, and adoption barriers are also discussed. The thesis concludes by emphasizing a multi-faceted approach combining all these solutions to decarbonize the aviation industry.
