This thesis investigates the multi-platform capabilities of the DWSIM chemical process simulator, focusing on its performance, usability, and architectural design across different operating systems. A theoretical analysis of process simulation fundamentals and software architecture is combined with a practical evaluation conducted on Windows and Android platforms. Representative simulations, including reaction, separation, and fluid flow processes, were used to assess computational consistency and convergence behavior. The results demonstrate that DWSIM maintains reliable thermodynamic accuracy across platforms, while performance differences are primarily influenced by hardware and platform-specific limitations. The study also highlights the advantages of open-source and cross-platform solutions in improving accessibility and collaboration in chemical engineering. Overall, the work confirms that multi-platform process simulators like DWSIM represent a viable and promising alternative to traditional commercial software.
