The thesis proposes the design and development of a Virtual Reality (VR)-based application in the teaching of dance movements in an immersive and interactive environment. The system proposed incorporates the use of markerless motion capture that can be used to retrieve human motions in a video and apply it to a 3D animated figure. Animation processing, rigging, and development of the virtual learning environment are performed with Blender and Unity. The system allows users to view, rehearse and study dance moves with a virtual avatar, which lets them repeatedly practice and learn more about difficult moves. It also offers options like playback of animations and motion control to create more enhanced learning. The findings prove that the suggested solution provides a practical, affordable, and interactive method of the enhancement of the learning process in dance with the help of VR technologies without the need to use special motion capture devices.
