Absztrakt
Biological weathering has the ability to modify the composition of rocks, changing their properties and the way the landscape looks. This paper delves into the distinct causes of biological weathering of rocks; namely the effects of microbial, plant, animal, and human activity. In terms of microbial activity, the paper mentions the specific effects microbes and their processes that are required for them to weather rocks. The 'Healing of Weathering' is the penultimate topic that is covered. The topic discusses how bacteria and specific self-healing agents are able to mend/heal rockss.
