This thesis examines how the emergence of generative AI affects traditional copyright, intellectual property and data governance laws in both the European Union & India. It compares the EU's structured, rule-based regulatory model with India's more flexible, principle-driven approach. This thesis follows a comparative and exploratory methodology. This is done to identify gaps, similarities, and differences in both jurisdictions' policies and frameworks. Through a multi-case study, the research highlights recurring issues such as authorship, ownership, liability, text and data mining, and the misuse of AI.
