In this research, we focused on investigating the impact of solar energy and wind energy on carbon emissions, and we examined how much impact primary energy sources have on increasing carbon emissions. After that, we studied the impact of the gross domestic product on the percentage of investment in solar energy, and the same applies to wind energy. In addition, there are special variables that indicate the richness of solar energy and wind energy in the countries concerned in the study, which are sun radiation represented by the value of DSR and average wind speed. The research included eight European countries: Germany, Netherlands, France, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Belgium, and Austria. The data were collected from 2010 to 2020 from several databases, then arranged in panel data, and we used OLS, FE, and RE models to analyze the data.
