In this thesis, I study the Internet of Things technology. This work presents the different architectures of IoT as well as the applications of this technology. Additionally, an overview of varying virtualization techniques will be presented. The second part of this thesis is the emulation of different network topologies using Mininet. Mininet is a tool that helps create realistic virtual networks. I also use Wireshark, a tool that allows the tracking of OpenFlow packets in the network. Finally, I use the Mininet tool in order to run tests on the emulated networks and assess their functionality.
