This research focuses on the synthesis of a ligand that can complex with Mn(II) and acts as a pH-sensitive probe in MR imaging studies. The ligand was synthesized by modifying pyclen and was found to form thermodynamically and kinetically stable complexes with essential metal ions. The complex showed pH sensitivity through relaxometric measurement. The dissociation kinetics parameters of the complex were also found to be improved compared to related Mn(II) complexes. The results suggest that this ligand has potential practical applications as a pH-sensitive probe in MR imaging.
