The present diploma work focuses on the study of thermoresponse of the homopolymer DEA (N,N-diethylacrylamide) at different degrees of polymerization, synthesized via RAFT polymerization under various reaction conditions. Techniques such as MALDI TOF were employed to characterize the samples, determining the average molecular weight, average molecular number, and polydispersity of the homopolymers. Additionally, DLS was used to identify the thermal response of the polymers, subjecting them to temperatures between 10°C and 35°C. Results indicate that the number average molecular weight influences the Lower Critical Solution Temperature (LCST) of the homopolymer, and that reaction conditions should be adjusted as the degree of polymerization increases. This study provides an important foundation for future research, particularly in the field of copolymerizations.
