Abstract

The state considered the joint solution of the social and health needs of the population to be the task of the public administration. The public health institutions included the health centre, the purpose of which was to provide assistance and advice on health issues available in one place. The majority of municipalities did not have sufficient financial means to implement the necessary measures, so they needed support from the state and organizations. The health centres and the health protection work of the Green Cross were closely connected, and their activities contributed to the eradication of the social and health deficiencies of Transcarpathia.
