dc.description.abstract | Carbohydrates are abundant in all living organisms and play both structural and functional roles.They are found in various cell parts and are the main source of energy in cells. Green plants are the primary sources of carbohydrates, which are produced through photosynthesis.Galectins are carbohydrate-recognizing proteins that bind to β-galactosides, 6 with the most investigated being galectin-1 and galectin-3.Based on these preliminaries, we aim systematically study the reactions of anhydro-aldose oximes derived nitrile oxides to synthesize C-galactopyranosyl isoxazoles and isoxazolines tested against galectins, after deprotection. | |
