dc.description.abstractThe thesis introduces an innovate way to improve the learning methods of PLC programming by simulating a modular production system (MPS) in Unity 3D and integrating it with TwinCAT3. Firstly, the thesis covers the history and current trends of digital twins, which will have a significant impact on developing an efficient digital twin for the project. Second phase, is connecting Unity 3D and TwinCAT 3 using TwinCAT.ADS and ensuring real-time data exchange. Third phase is developing a PLC code for the simulation for testing and evolution purposes, making sure that the simulation replicates the real life MPS. Final phase of the project is optimizing the platform for educational purposes through comprehensive documentation and simplifying user interface.
