Absztrakt

The growing challenges of water and wastewater management necessitate robust and sustainable strategies to manage these challenges such as greywater treatment and safe reuse. However, the use of various approaches such as chemical coagulants has raised serious environmental and socioeconomic issues. This thesis sought to investigate the sustainable and most efficient greywater treatment coagulants or hybrid systems in a coagulation-flocculation process. In the comparative evaluation between the chemical and natural-based coagulants, as well as their hybrid systems, the ferric chloride and hydrated lime hybrid system demonstrated the highest removal efficiency for turbidity and organic pollutants from greywater. The findings of this thesis therefore, contribute to the cost-effective decentralized system for greywater treatment.
