This thesis explores the historical evolution of the World Wide Web from early static pages to dynamic, interactive platforms, highlighting the critical role of World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards. It examines the foundational improvements introduced by HTML5 and the Semantic Web, emphasizing how modern markup and microformats enhance both machine readability and user experience. A major focus of the research is on real-time web connectivity, specifically comparing the limitations of traditional HTTP requests against the continuous data streams provided by WebSockets and Server-Sent Events (SSE). To transition from theory to practice, the final section details the system architecture and development of a live, real-time stock dashboard. Ultimately, this practical implementation proves how modern web protocols seamlessly work together to deliver efficient, responsive, and secure live data to users.
