Developing a responsive vue.js web application for a small business with integrated ai support

Abstract

This thesis aims to address the challenges encountered by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) by offering a budget friendly and automated digital solution. The primary objective is to design and develop a responsive, mobile-first Single-Page Application (SPA) for a boutique home bakery. In order to achieve this, a dynamic e-commerce website was built using Vue.js and Tailwind CSS. The application also integrates an existing Large Language Model (OpenAI) via an API, acting as an AI Assistant capable of responding to customers like a front desk clerk. Through strong prompt engineering and user acceptance testing, the AI successfully proves its ability to strictly follow the brand identity and prevent AI hallucinations. This project demonstrates that integrating AI into web applications for small businesses, is a good foundation to maintaining proper customer rapport/support without incurring unbearable costs.
