dc.description.abstractThe thesis discusses the optimization of an injection molding manufacturing process at a factory with a view to improving efficiency, cutting costs, and maintaining quality. By using KPIs, process improvements were developed and implemented through Lean, Six Sigma, and CI techniques like Kaizen. Main areas of focus were reduction in cycle time, defects, material waste and maximization of machine utilization. Real-time data tracking and digital monitoring systems were used to check if the changes introduced were effective or not, which improved the processes. The optimization efforts really paid off. Cycle time was reduced by 20%; defect rates were reduced by 50%; and material waste was reduced by 50%. There was also a 12% improvement in machine utilization. Upgraded production throughput with saves costs and improve quality while engaging the workforce presently. Thus, enhances production throughput. This report emphasizes a continuous process monitoring system that requires employee involvement on site and data driven decisions. The thesis wraps up with suggestions on how to use technologies like artificial intelligence, and further optimizing sustainability in injection molding for competitive endurance.
