| dc.description.abstract | This thesis looks at the environmental impact of making lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) and how the process can be more sustainable. As the world shifts to electric vehicles and renewable energy, LIB production is becoming more important—but it also comes with environmental challenges. Using life cycle assessment (LCA) frameworks, the research examines the impact of battery production, including energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, water consumption, and raw material extraction. It identifies the biggest environmental concerns and explores solutions like sustainable material sourcing, better recycling methods, and energy-efficient manufacturing. The goal is to provide clear, practical recommendations for policymakers and industry leaders to help build a greener and more sustainable battery industry | |
