dc.description.abstractMarieCare is a web-based doctor appointment and e-pharmacy system that lets patients discover providers by specialization, view real-time availability, and book slot-based visits. The platform also features a secure online pharmacy where users can browse a medicine catalog, manage a cart, place orders, and complete checkout, while staff handle inventory and order fulfillment. Doctors get straightforward tools to manage profiles, schedules, and the full booking lifecycle including confirmation, completion, and cancellation. The system prevents double booking and delivers real-time notifications to both patients and doctors. A secured REST API with JWT authentication and role-based access control underpins the application, and Stripe is used for payments. The full stack uses the MERN ecosystem with Socket.IO for live updates and MongoDB for persistent data, and the thesis documents requirements, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
