Rivers are one of the most important sources of the natural resources indispensable to living beings, with cultural, social, economic and historical importance. As a result of this it is necessary to assess the quality of the water as part of the ecosystem such as analyzing the enrichment of nutrients in the water bodies (based on category, type and geographical location), considering the influence of confounding factors on the nutrient-biology interaction. Our main objectives are to compare the EQR (Eqological Quality Ratio) values obtained in rivers in Hungary with the limit values of nutrients stipulated by the Water Framework Directive (WFD) for freshwaters and observe the main taxonomic and ecological communities associated with conditions of good condition for their future preservation.
