Design of a residential home starts with an understanding of the owner’s needs, preferences, and lifestyle. The design of the structure should meet the basic requirements; structural resistance, serviceability, durability, and aesthetics in an economical way. Also taking into consideration the efficient space utilization; the inclusion of natural light and ventilation to meet the energy-efficient requirements of a structure.
A lot of materials are used in the construction of a residential home to meet its requirements. Materials such as concrete, steel (mostly for reinforcement structures), timber, and bricks will be mainly used for the structural design in the allocated site; Korhaz utca 13-17, Debrecen, Hungary.
The tasks to be done in this thesis include the Architectural designs of the residential home using ARCHICAD and Structural Analysis of the roof structure using AXIS VM 7 (Educational) software. EUROCODE and HUNGARIAN National Annex will be used as the standards for design and analysis in this work.
