This study explores how circular waste management could help Nigeria meet the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Circular waste management is a way of doing so which prioritizes waste minimization, reuse and recycling while also promoting sustainability and economic development. Nigeria now suffers serious waste management problems, much of which is caused by unscientific disposal. It discusses the role of informal waste pickers in the recycling process and highlights best practices from around the world that can be adopted in Nigeria.
