This thesis focuses on the economic policy package, known as "Abenomics", implemented by Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo in 2012, and evaluates its impact on the Japanese economy. Focusing on the three "arrows" of the policy package - monetary easing, fiscal policy and structural reforms - the thesis provides an overview of Japan's economic hardships prior to Abenomics, and it also analyses the policy outcome using literature review, relevant economic data and indicators. This thesis places special emphasis on the examination of inflation, GDP growth, and structural changes in the economy, as these were the headline goals of the policies. By evaluating both successes and limitations, the thesis offers a comprehensive understanding of Abenomics’ role in Japan’s economic trajectory and draws conclusions about its effectiveness and long-term implications.
