The present study revealed inhibitory effects on the germination and early seedling growth of Sorghum bicolor, especially at the high concentrations (Cd500-Zn500, and Cd1000-Zn1000). Increased exposure time in the intervals of 24, 72, and 120 hours resulted in the accumulation of Cd-Zn concentration in the radicle and hypocotyl. High concentration of Cd-Zn caused decreased plant tolerance to toxicity and hence increased toxicity which declined the growth of seedlings of Sorghum bicolor.
