Our experiments confirmed that C2C12 myoblasts express a variety of ‘don’t eat-me’ signaling molecules, highlighting the CD47/SIRPα pair axis as the highest expressed signals that could contribute to cell fusion and phagocytotic processes. The treatment of C2C12 murine myoblasts with anti-CD47 antibody resulted in impaired myoblast, showing that the molecules in the ‘don’t eat-me’CD47/SIRPα axis are required for proper cell fusion of differentiating myoblasts.
