Mathematical biology -- from the perspective of differential equations
Absztrakt
Biological concepts such as among others Population Ecology and Epidemiology have been some of the major concerns in biological sciences. For instance, Population Ecology which describes the role and behaviour of organisms in the environment towards the scarce resources and among themselves as well. These relationships bring the unique interactions of competition, prey-predator and even how a single species replenish the nutrients in the absence of any other species. On the other hand Epidemiology which is the study of micro-organism such as bacteria, fungi and viruses affects the population size causing a constant population dynamics which posses threats even to human population. Competition and prey-predator association for example for extreme cases can cause extinction of prey or less competitive organisms. A striking balance need therefore to be observed unconditionally among organisms. Entry of viruses like influenza in human population for example can spread to an alarm for pandemic levels if our health centers and personal cannot eradicate it by coming up with measures.Mathematical models can be very rich in giving insight of all these.
