Personal Finance Manager Framework: React (frontend) + Spring Boot (backend)

Abstract

This project was the design and development of a full-stack Personal Finance Management Platform application to help aid individuals in effectively tracking and managing their personal finances in a secure manner. The web application was built using React.js for the frontend, SpringBoot for the backend, and PostgreSQL for the database. The system provides essential features including secure user authentication, full CRUD operations, automatic calculations, interactive data visualisation, and PDF generation. A strong emphasis on data privacy and security was placed on the system, with all financial records isolated to avoid unintended external sharing and monetisation of personal data. The application successfully addresses common limitations of existing tools like complexity, data fragmentation, and privacy concerns.
