The destiny of seeds inside the soil seed bank is determined by the complex interaction between seed morphology and seed persistency. The morphological properties of seeds, including their size and shape, are crucial in determining the dynamics of seed persistence across time. The primary aim of this study is to search for the relation between seed shape, size, thickness, and seed persistency in soil. Even though there have been many studies related to this topic all around the world with various floras, such analysis has not been done in Central Europe yet. Hence, our main goal is to conduct the same study with Pannonian flora, specifically using regional data. To fully achieve this goal, it is important to comprehend the seed morphology, longevity, and its importance in seed behavior in soil.
