By implementing the bioinformatics tools for data mining, combined with molecular biology techniques to perform cloning and biophysical imaging techniques, we aim to achieve a more straightforward and advanced imaging method for the aSyn protein. This can be employed to gain deeper insights into the void of Parkinson’s research. We managed to clone the aSyn gene without the bulky GFP molecule into our plasmid of choice, pcDNA6. Furthermore, we completed the primer design as a preparation step for incorporating UAAs and GCE, which can be meaningful for the further aims of the project involving the use of click chemistry reactions. Going back to the core meaning of this research, we were able to take a step forward in imaging the aSyn protein, the leading cause of Parkinson’s disease, at the single-molecule level.
