dc.description.abstractSteelmaking and manufacturing industries are one of the most important industries today. Yet, it also has room for improvement in lean thinking, technologies, and sustainability. This thesis will explain how to automate certain pats of the process in the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) steelmaking industries, including ways to make it faster, more sustainable, eco-friendly, safer for work, and improving lean principles along the way. The world is headed for a future of automation and AI with large goals set for the steel manufacturing industries by 2050, and these are ways that medium-sized or unoptimized EAF steelmaking businesses and industries can improve on, how to implement, and results to expect.
